Judd Apatow says 'Girls' already renewed by HBO for Season 3
"Girls" Season 2 doesn't kick off until January 13, 2013, but executive producer Judd Apatow has revealed that another season of the Emmy-nominated series is already in the works.HBO has not confirmed the news, but according to Apatow, Lena Dunham & co. are already prepping to start shooting another season soon.
The beans were spilled while Apatow was promoting "This Is 40," his new "sort-of-sequel" to "Knocked Up." During a video interview with DP/30, he mentioned that "we're about to shoot the third season of 'Girls,' and Season 2 starts in January."
This isn't the first time that a member of Team "Girls" has revealed series details in an off-the-cuff manner. Dunham frequently uses social media to tease details about guest stars and storylines -- but so far she has not chimed in on news of the renewal.
"Girls" Season 2 will premiere at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, followed by the "Enlightened" Season 2 premiere at 9:30 p.m..
