'Dancing With the Stars' shocker: Did Shawn Johnson deserve Len Goodman's smackdown?
After being sidelined by a neck injury, "Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars" pro Derek Hough finally reuinited with his partner, Shawn Johnson, Monday night (Nov. 12).
As a tribute to Veterans Day, Derek outfitted himself as a soldier, with Shawn in an angelic white gown. The two performed a heavenly Viennese waltz that nearly earned the couple their first perfect score. Only judge Len Goodman docked them half a point for total of 29.5.
But it was their trio tribal samba, performed with Mark Ballas, that generated the night's biggest controversy. Although the dance earned a standing ovation from the crowd and a perfect score from judge Carrie Ann Inaba, Goodman chastised the pros for their "self-indulgent" choreography that deviated wildly from the traditional samba and gave them a shockingly low 7.
When the audience, included many military vets, loudly voiced their displeasure, host Tom Bergeron told Goodman, "You were roundly booed by a lot of people who were trained in combat."
What do you think? Did Shawn, Derek and Mark deserve a better score?
