'Castle' casting scoop: 'Vampire Diaries' star Kelly Hu attracts Esposito's eye

Kelly Hu, who recently battled Stephen Amell's Oliver as villain China White on "Arrow," is showing off her fierce side again on "Castle".

The actress, who also played vampire Pearl on "The Vampire Diaries," is guesting on "Castle" as Scarlet Jones, the bodyguard to a notorious adult video kingpin named Beau Randolph, Zap2it has learned. Although she failed to stop her client's murder, Scarlet attracts the attention of Detective Esposito (Jon Huertas).

Hmmm...hopefully for Lanie's (Tamala Jones) sake his interest is strictly professional. (We haven't given up on the precinct's other couple!)

Hu's episode, "Death Gone Crazy," is shooting now and is expected to air Jan. 14.
