Brandon T. Jackson officially cast in 'Beverly Hills Cop' TV series

It's official: Brandon T. Jackson has been cast as the son of Axel Foley in the upcoming "Beverly Hills Cop" TV series at CBS.

The news first hit the web at the end of October, though it was just in its rumor stage at the time. Now CBS has come out and confirmed that Jackson has joined the cast.

"Beverly Hills Cop" will be executive produced by Shawn Ryan and Eddie Murphy. For his part, Murphy plans to reprise his role as Axel Foley during the new series. The show will follow Jackson's Aaron Foley as a blue collar cop in Detroit trying to make a name for himself beyond the shadow of his father, who is now the chief of police.

Though it hasn't been confirmed, it's expected that this "Beverly Hills Cop" TV show will debut on CBS in the fall of 2013.
