TV ratings: World Series and NFL score for FOX Sunday

The San Francisco Giants' sweep of the World Series -- with a big assist from an NFL game that bled into primetime -- helped FOX score a ratings win Sunday night. The World Series, however, trailed NBC's "Sunday Night Football" from 8 to 11 p.m.

The heavy sports competition, however, didn't have a big effect on "Once Upon a Time," "The Good Wife" and the rest of ABC's and CBS' lineups. Both networks were fairly steady compared to last week.

FOX averaged 17.3 million viewers and a 10.0 rating/15 share in primetime -- numbers that will change some when adjustments are made for the live broadcasts. NBC (13.2 million, 7.9/12) came in second. CBS took third with 9.95 million viewers and a 6.4/9. ABC trailed with 7.25 million viewers and a 4.4/7.

The adults 18-49 crown also went to FOX, which scored a 5.6 rating. NBC posted a 5.1 in the demographic. ABC was third at 2.3, followed by CBS at 1.9.
