TV ratings: 'Revenge' beats 'The Good Wife' in adults 18-49 Sunday; '666 Park Avenue' starts modestly

"Revenge" opened its second season with ratings very similar to its series premiere last year, beating "The Good Wife" head-to-head among adults 18-49 -- though the CBS show had a few more total viewers -- and helping ABC's new Sunday lineup score pretty solid numbers. "Once Upon a Time" also opened pretty well, although "666 Park Avenue" had a softer start at 10 o'clock.

Elsewhere, NBC got more big numbers from "Sunday Night Football" to win the night, and "The Simpsons" had a pretty good premiere for FOX thanks to an NFL lead-in.

NBC delivered 16.6 million viewers and a 10.2 rating/16 share in households for the evening, leading second-place FOX (11 million, 6.4/10) by a pretty wide margin. CBS averaged 10.5 million viewers and a 6.8/11 to finish third overall. ABC drew 8.4 million people and a 5.2/8.

NBC also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 6.4 rating. The NFL runover helped FOX score a 4.6. ABC posted a 2.7 and CBS a 2.1.
