Tina Fey's '30 Rock' series farewell: Alec Baldwin tried to save show with pay cut

tina-fey-alec-baldwin-30-rock.jpgTina Fey's Emmy-winning "30 Rock" returns for its seventh and final season tonight (Oct. 4), and not everyone's ready to say goodbye.

In fact, Alec Baldwin tried to bargain with NBC to extend the series.

"I offered NBC to cut my pay 20% in order to have a full 7th and 8th seasons of 30 Rock," the actor tweeted. "I realize times have changed."

In the compacted 13-episode season, the characters are getting plenty of action.

Liz Lemon is actively trying to conceive a child with her boyfriend (James Marsden), Jack Donaghy is divorced and dating, a lot, and Kenneth (Jack McBrayer) and Hazel (Kristen Schaal) are living together. (OK, Kenneth's still not getting any action -- he's determined to protect his virtue.)

"30 Rock" returns tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC. Will you be watching?
