'True Blood,' 'Pretty Little Liars' and more: LGBT characters on cable TV, 2012-2013

A bisexual succubus, a transgendered high school student, a gaggle of sexually adventurous vampires, a straight-laced HR exec... these are just some of the LGBT characters on cable this season.

GLAAD counted 35 LGBT series regulars on cable, with Showtime leading the ranks. HBO comes next, followed by FX, Adult Swim, ABC Family, Teennick, MTV and Syfy. Even Lifetime is getting in on the act -- now that Don't Ask, Don't Tell has been repealed, a lesbian couple has joined "Army Wives."
