'Dancing With the Stars': Shawn Johnson doesn't let knee injury slow her down
"Dancing With the Stars" is always fraught with injuries to the amateurs and pros alike -- ballroom dancing can be dangerous. And Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson already has a bum knee, which actually kept her from making a serious run at the 2012 Olympic women's gymnastics team.
This week in the group dance rehearsal, she re-injured her knee while horsing around with Sabrina Bryan and it wasn't look for very good for her country cha-cha with partner Derek Hough, but she muscled up and pulled through like a champ.
The judges liked the routine, especially praising the seamless fusion of country steps with cha-cha steps. Carrie Ann's big criticism was that Shawn's solo was a bit stiff -- "You're better than that solo" -- and we can't argue.
But Shawn received a 9.5 from Carrie Ann, an 8.5 from Len and a 10 from Bruno for a grand total of 84.5 (when last week's scores were added in), which is good for fourth place on the leadboard. What did you think of Shawn's dance?
