Whitney Houston tribute special will feature Jennifer Hudson and Usher

whitney-houston-gi.jpgCBS and the Grammys will pay tribute to the late Whitney Houston with a star-studded concert special later this fall.

"We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston" will feature live performances by a number of artists, along with previously unseen footage of Houston and remembrances by her fellow artists. Celine Dion, Usher and Jennifer Hudson have already signed on to perform.

The special will tape Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and will air at 10 p.m. ET Friday, Nov. 16 on CBS.

The airing of the special will coincide with the release of a new greatest hits album that will feature 18 of her biggest songs, including a new version of "I Look to You" featuring R. Kelly. A photo book commemorating her life and career is due later in November, and members of her family, including daughter Bobbi Kristina, will star in a Lifetime reality series that debuts Oct. 24.

Houston died in February on the eve of the Grammy Awards after drowning in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
