Primetime Emmy Awards 2012: 'Mad Men' suffers 0-17 shutout
"Mad Men's" Emmy streak is over. After accruing 15 Emmys, including four consecutive wins for Outstanding Drama Series, the AMC period drama went 0-17 in tonight's TV awards fest.
"Homeland's" win for best drama denied "Mad Men" the chance at a record fifth straight victory in the series category. "Homeland" delivered another blow to best acting contenders Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss with wins for stars Damian Lewis and Claire Danes.
Hamm, nominated five times for lead actor in a drama series, hasn't taken home a single trophy.
"Mad Men" actors Christina Hendricks, Jared Harris, Julia Ormond and Ben Feldman also lost in their respective categories.
Somewhere, creator and showrunner Matthew Weiner is crying in his cups, Don Draper style.
