'Parks and Recreation': Leslie wants to cut the sugar
"Parks and Recreation" will delve deeper into Leslie Knope's new job as a city councilwoman in Thursday's (Sept. 27) episode -- and as is typical for her, she's not doing anything small.
Leslie's (Amy Poehler) first act as an elected official is to propose a tax on soda in Pawnee, as she explains in the clip. Ann (Rashida Jones) is on board, but we're guessing it won't go as well with the rest of the people in the fourth-fattest city in America.
Take Ron (Nick Offerman), for instance. He is unsurprisingly not in favor of Leslie's proposal, given his libertarian bent. He demonstrates his opposition by bringing in a particularly monstrous meal from Paunch Burger, complete with a 64-ounce beverage. (Note that it's a small.)
We're not sure how Leslie's bill will go over with the council (probably not well), but we are rather curious to see if anyone calls Leslie out on her own sugar addiction. Those waffles aren't exactly the paragon of health.
"Parks and Recreation" airs at 9:30 p.m. ET Thursday on NBC.
