'Once Upon a Time' Season 2 premiere pictures and information released

ABC's hit family drama "Once Upon a Time" is returning for Season 2 in just a few short weeks and now we have some season premiere pictures and information to feast our eyes on. The episode description for the season premiere, titled "Broken," reads as follows:

Reality and myth begin to merge as the fairytale characters awaken from Evil Queen Regina's broken curse and remember who they were. But to their dismay, they aren't transported back to fairytale land. To make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin - aka Mr. Gold - in an effort to gain the upper hand in his power struggle with Regina, has introduced magic into the town. In fairytales magic has its place, but in our world it can have unfathomable consequences.

Meanwhile, back in the fairytale land, Prince Phillip awakens his sleeping beauty, Aurora (Sarah Bolger, "The Tudors"), but discovers that he and his traveling companion, Mulan (Jamie Chung, "Sucker Punch"), will soon have to face a deadly foe.

We cannot wait to see the fallout in Storybrooke over the purple misty magic Mr. Gold has unleashed on the town. In fact, we're a little dismayed in the Season 2 photos that there is no sign of Gold or Belle. Probably that storyline is just too juicy to reveal early -- fingers crossed!

"Once Upon a Time" returns Sunday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
