'Modern Family' extra: A day in the life of Ty Burrell

"Modern Family" is so hugely successful going into its fourth season that its stars negotiated gigantic pay raises and have about a thousand Emmy nominations already (numbers approximate). Naturally, that's not enough validation for star Ty Burrell.

In Zap2it's exclusive extra from the "Modern Family" Season 3 DVD and Blu-ray, a camera crew follows the man otherwise known as Phil Dunphy during a day on the ABC comedy's set. While you might expect that it was something assigned to him by his bosses, Burrell sets the record straight -- it's actually an ego-driven exercise of his own design.

"I just felt like I wasn't getting enough attention from the show, and I felt like if there was somebody following me every day with a camera, I would feel funny and validated," he tells costar Julie Bowen.
