'Live! With Kelly and Michael': First guest Claire Danes had a jock bias

This morning (Tuesday, Sept. 4) Michael Strahan was officially named co-host of the the freshly minted "Live! With Kelly and Michael." Though news had leaked out a few weeks ago, Kelly Ripa has helmed the show with a roster of guest hosts since Regis Philbin left last November.
As the first official guest of the new show, Claire Danes, who plays Carrie, the bipolar CIA agent on Showtime's "Homeland," says she knew it was going to be Strahan. And given all the fuss, Danes says, "I thought
had just won the lottery."
She also tells Zap2it that the choice Strahan initiially surprised her.

"I had some kind of bias -- of a jock," Danes says. "I don't think of the athletic dudes as being particularly selling in this context."
But Strahan, a former defensive end with the New York Giants completely won her over.
"He is wonderful and so charming and such a gracious host," Danes says.
