'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' renewal, holiday specials redneckognized at TLC

here-comes-honey-boo-boo-tlc-325.jpg"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" premiered in early August and it already feels like it's been with us forever. A ratings hit and pop culture sensation, it's no surprise TLC is ordering up more episodes and three "HOLLAday" specials pegged to Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

"What you see is what you get and we are excited to share even more of Alana and her family's unbridled hilarity, sincerity and love with our viewers," TLC general manager Amy Winter says in a statement.

"Honey Boo Boo" tracks the incredibly true everyday adventures of "Toddlers & Tiaras" standout Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her immediate family: coupon-loving mom June, chalk-mining dad Sugar Bear, and three sisters 12-year-old Lauryn  "Pumpkin," 15-year-old Jessica "Chubbs" and 17-year-old Anna "Chickadee." They live in the low income area of McIntyre, Georgia.

TLC's press release did not specify exactly how many episodes have been ordered, nor did it make any mention of the raise the Thompson family was seeking. But we can assume they'll be better compensated than they were for Season 1.

The finale of "Honey Boo Boo's" current run airs tonight. Make a batch of lemonade and celebrate.
