'Grey's Anatomy's' Kim Raver joins 'Revolution' on NBC

kim-raver-greys-anatomy-large.jpgFormer "Grey's Anatomy" co-star Kim Raver is joining the cast of NBC's futuristic action drama "Revolution" in a recurring role, TVLine reports.

The series, executive produced by J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke ("Supernatural"), tracks life in a world without technology 15 years after a global blackout and the band of renegades fighting against a military dictatorship. Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Giancarlo Esposito and Elizabeth Mitchell star.

No word which side of the conflict Raver's character will fall on -- details on her character are being kept under wraps -- but she joins recently cast David Meunier and David Andrews as recurring players in the expanding ensemble.

Raver has had a steady presence on TV for years now. In addition to "Grey's," she had a memorable stint as Jack Bauer's on-off love Audrey Raines on "24" and roles on "The Nine," "Lipstick Jungle" and "Third Watch."

The pilot episode of "Revolution" is available for early viewing on NBC.com and premieres Sept. 17 at 10 p.m. ET.
