TV ratings: Olympics still dominant Sunday but down from last week

With the ratings engines of swimming (over) and gymnastics (winding down) not as prominent in NBC's Olympics coverage Sunday, ratings were down a good amount from a week ago. But they still blew everything else away for the night.

Elsewhere, ABC continued to struggle with original episodes of its reality shows opposite the Olympics, but CBS' "Big Brother" rebounded some after some down episodes last week.

NBC scored 29.2 million viewers and a 16.5 rating/27 share in households for the night. CBS (4.6 million, 3.0/5) finished a very distant second. ABC (3.2 million, 1.9/3) came in third, and FOX (2.7 million, 1.6/3) trailed.

The Olympics scored a 9.3 rating among adults 18-49 for NBC. FOX was the best of the rest in the demo with a 1.2, edging CBS' 1.1. ABC posted a 0.8.
