NBC reporter doesn't recognize Evander Holyfield at the Olympics 2012

evander-holyfield-nbc-gaffe.jpgOops! An NBC reporter at the Olympics was looking to interview fans in the crowd when she stopped one man outside Buckingham Palace. She asked his opinion on Danny Boyle and then he went on his way. In the broadcast, the man was referred to only as "a tourist."

He's also Evander Holyfield, who was the best heavyweight champion fighter for over a decade, but she (and the producers) failed to recognize him. It's a gaffe made even more embarrassing by the fact that Holyfield is actually employed by NBC, as a sports pundit. Holyfield won a Bronze medal at the 1984 Olympics.

"The @todayshow did interview me yesterday and ur right they didn't mention who I was," tweeted Holyfield after a few fans pointed out the error. "Look, the @todayshow did a good job. It was hard to recognize me with the baseball cap. This could happen to any reporter. LOL!!"

Later he added, "Hopefully when I get on the @todayshow they will remember who I am! I won't be wearing my white baseball cap! LOL."
