'Mindy Project' casts Tommy Dewey as Mindy Kaling's boyfriend

Mindy Kaling's got a new boyfriend -- well, on her FOX show "The Mindy Project" anyway. TV Line reports that "Step Up Revolution" actor Tommy Dewey is joining Kaling's series as a love interest for her character.

Dewey plays Josh Daniels, a successful lawyer who goes after what he wants -- in this case, Mindy. Wonder how he'll fit into the mold of Mindy's rom-com fantasies.

Dewey's past TV credits include guest roles on "Melissa & Joey," "CSI: Miami" and "Better with You" and stints on the short-lived "Roommates" and "The Mountain."

"The Mindy Project" premieres Sept. 25 at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.
