Justin Bieber records a 'Simpsons' cameo

Add one more name to the roll call of guest stars for Season 24 of "The Simpsons": Justin Bieber.

The pop star will make a brief appearance as himself in an episode set to air in 2013. Bieber tweeted about his cameo Tuesday (Aug. 21), then deleted it, but executive producer Al Jean both confirms the casting and fills in some plot details.

"He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won't admit him," Jean tells EW. He also has this message for the legions of Beliebers: "It's a cameo, but all of his fans should watch every minute of the show, before and after he's on."

Also, since when does Bart play the piano? The episode is called "The Fabulous Faker Boy," so the answer is probably "never."

"The Simpsons" premieres Sunday, Sept. 30 on FOX.
