'Hawaii Five-0': Ving Rhames will go mano a Danno with Scott Caan

"Hawaii Five-0" will delve into Danny's past this season, and it's not going to be pleasant. Ving Rhames will make sure of that.

Rhames ("Pulp Fiction," the "Mission: Impossible" series) will guest-star in an episode of the CBS drama's upcoming season, playing a man from Danny's (Scott Caan) past. CBS announced the casting via Twitter on Thursday (Aug. 9).

The episode will flash back to Danny's time as a cop in New Jersey, where he crossed paths with Rhames' character. It's likely we'll see Rhames in present-day Hawaii too, and the network promises that "it's going to get bloody."

"Five-0" has already lined up Christine Lahti for a guest arc this season as McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) mother. The show's third season kicks off Monday, Sept. 24.
