'Criminal Minds' casts 'Twin Peaks' villain Ray Wise as, you guessed it, a villain

Ray Wise, best known for (spoiler alert!) killing Laura Palmer in "Twin Peaks," is guesting on "Criminal Minds" as an overzealous surgeon, TVLine reports.

Wise's doctor is suspected by the BAU profilers for "operating on patients against their will" in the season's fourth episode, titled "God Complex." Wise's last regular series role was as the devil on the CW's "Reaper"; he has also recurred on "Psych" as a priest in their "Exorcist" and "Twin Peaks" (natch) tribute episodes.

"Criminal Minds" returns for its eighth season on Wednesday, Sept. 26 on CBS.
