The CW is still thinking about adding comedies to its schedule
The CW hasn't had a half-hour comedy on its schedule since the end of the 2008-09 season, when it canceled "The Game" and "Everybody Hates Chris." That might change in the relatively near future, though.CW president Mark Pedowitz said Monday (July 30) at the network's TCA press tour session that The CW developed eight comedy scripts last pilot season and is still "very interested" in two of them.
The two shows still in contention may not make it on the air this season -- Pedowitz says he wants to "stabilize the schedule" first. He adds that they could possibly premiere online as well.
Pedowitz does know, however, what kinds of shows he wants.
"They have to be different, but they have to have a strong female perspective," he says. "Last [season] I sat here and said '2 Broke Girls,' 'New Girl,' 'Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23' would have worked just as well on The CW."
What sort of comedies would you like to see on The CW?
