'Community' at Comic-Con: 'We're not going to screw it up,' new showrunners say
"It's all gonna be OK," Guarascio told fans as he entered the crowded Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con Friday (July 13).
"Just a few months ago, we were just like you," he admits -- big fans of the show. Now, they're in charge. But because they love the show so much, they don't want to screw it up.

Essentially, they're not going to make any sweeping changes. "The only thing we care about is keeping it this weird, wonderful gem," Guarascio says, "and it's not going to change."
So, what can we expect from Season 4? Guarascio and Port dropped some major (and excellent) scoop on what to expect.
- We'll meet Jeff's dad. But who will play him? Though Bill Murray is the name dropped most often, the guy's probably busy being Bill Murray. Joel McHale suggests Eddie Murphy -- "Pluto Nash himself."
- We've seen Pierce's (Chevy Chase) water bed, but we'll also see the rest of his spread. That's right, we're heading to Pierce's mansion and the weird world he inhabits.
- Inspector Spacetime fans, rejoice! You'll be amongst your kind when the cast visits an Inspector Spacetime convention.
If there's anything else you want to see in Season 4, be sure to make yourself heard. Guarascio says the writing staff spends a great deal of time figuring out what the fans will enjoy.
"The fans influence what happens on screen. When we are in the writers room, we're actually talking about what you are going to like on a regular basis," Guarascio tells the crowd.
Ultimately, Guarascio and Port want you to know that they're taking their responsibility very seriously. "We're walking into a situation where it's the best cast on television," Port says -- there's no way the show can be bad. "What I mean to say is we're not going to screw it up. It's not going to be us."
