'Cheer Perfection': TLC's latest 'live through your kids' docu-drama

cheer-perfection-tlc.jpgWhat do little girls (and their moms) who aren't into the pageant circuit do? Cheer. As in cheer leading. And on Wednesday's (July 11) debut of "Cheer Perfection," TLC provides yet another docu-drama look inside a world where kids are pushed to compete for moms who couldn't.

"I wasn't a cheerleader as a child and I don't see anything wrong with living through your child," says Bonnie "I don't."

Bonnie's daughter, Alana, is new to cheer leading and mom is keen on pushing her kid the forefront of the "sport." For the uninitiated, competitive cheer leading has nothing to do with pumping up football fans from the sidelines. The proliferation of cheer leading gyms in the past decade or so have turned it into a cottage industry with several regional and national competitions in in which pint-sized pom-pom girls compete for big trophies.

Watch a clip from the premiere below, then tune in for the full episode at 10 p.m. ET on TLC, right after "Toddlers & Tiaras."
