'Today': Savannah Guthrie takes her place at the anchor desk
Ann Curry left "Today" Thursday (June 28) to take on a new position at NBC News. Her replacement was announced Friday - Savannah Guthrie. There was very little fanfare about it, though. When the show began at 7 a.m., Guthrie was just sitting at the anchor desk next to Matt Lauer. The two of them began the news broadcast and that was that. Savannah was doing the breaking news with Lauer and nothing else was said about it. We expected some sort of announcement or at least a welcome-to-Savannah mention.
Did you watch Savannah's first day as lead anchor? We never had a huge issue with Ann Curry and thought she should've been given more of a chance, but Savannah didn't do a bad job. What do you think?
