'The Bachelorette's' Emily Maynard: 'I just have to keep trying'

emily-maynard-bachelorette-bermuda-yacht-club-abc.jpgZap2it: After being the subject of much conversation during your "Bachelor" run, were you prepared for that again going into "The Bachelorette"?

Emily Maynard: Obviously, that was a huge thing in the back of my head, "Am I going to be able to go through all of this again?" I think that maybe I wasn't in the right place last time to be able to deal with everything. It's like you're put in a whirlwind, and your whole life changes in a second. I wasn't prepared for that, and this time, I am. It didn't change me as a person; it actually made me stronger, so I'm not that worried about it.

Zap2it: The percentage of couples who have stayed together over the history of the "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" franchises hasn't been huge. What do you think about that?

Emily Maynard: There have been 16 seasons of "The Bachelor," and I've been on more than 16 dates in my lifetime, so that doesn't mean I'm going to stop dating. I just have to keep trying. I'm not ever going to give up on love until I find the right guy.

Zap2it: What kind of contact have you had with Brad Womack, with whom you were paired at the end of "The Bachelor" last year?

Emily Maynard: Right now [while taping "The Bachelorette"], I don't have a phone, a computer ... anything. Before that, I had talked to Brad about doing the show, and he's excited for me. We both know it can work, and obviously, we both wish I didn't have to do it again. But he's been very supportive.

"The Bachelorette" airs Mondays on ABC.
