Leighton Meester: Moving on from 'Gossip Girl' will be 'great'

It looks like Blake Lively isn't the only cast member who is tiring of her role on "Gossip Girl." Leighton Meester appears to be ready to leave the Upper East Side too.

During a recent interview with E! Online, Meester says it'll be "great to move on and do something different." The 26-year-old actress adds, "Playing the same character for six years is great, but it's exciting to do other things."

These comments come just days after Lively says in an interview with Bullett, "As an actor who plays a caricature of myself on the show, I don't think I'd say, 'Watch "Gossip Girl" for my best quality of work.'" 

After six seasons, "Gossip Girl" is heading into the home stretch. The soap will have an abbreviated run during the 2012-13 season before calling it quits.
