'Criminal Minds' Season 8 adds Jeanne Tripplehorn as series regular

"Criminal Minds" has found a replacement for the departed Paget Brewster, who exited the show this past spring. Season 8 of the CBS crime procedural will introduce Jeanne Tripplehorn as a series regular, reports TV Line.

Tripplehorn will play a new profile, says executive producer Erica Messer, whose character will be introduced in the Season 8 premiere.

Tripplehorn is best known in TV circles as first-wife Barb on HBO's "Big Love," which wrapped in 2011 after five seasons. She was most recently seen in a multi-episode arc on FOX's new hit comedy "New Girl," as the ex-wife of a man Zooey Deschanel's character was dating.
