Bristol Palin says 'Life's a Tripp' viewers will see 'the real Bristol'

bristol-palin-tripp-palin-lifes-a-tripp-lifetime.jpgBristol Palin is used to life in the public eye between being the daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and having waltzed her way to center stage on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." But now she's getting ready to carry her own show, "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp," which premieres June 19 on Lifetime and chronicles her life as a single mom moving from Alaska to Los Angeles.

"It was hard for me to go to LA and try to fit in there," Bristol, 21, says on Monday's (June 11) "Live! with Kelly." "I'm not that Hollywood type of person."

As for how she handles criticism of her family, Bristol tells Robin Roberts on "Good Morning America" that she picks her battles. And viewers will get to see one of those battles on "Life's a Tripp," though you've all probably seen the YouTube clips of it by now. A Palin-hater calls Bristol's mom a "whore" to which Bristol fires back that he's a "homosexual."

"I chose to confront him and see what the real problem was," Bristol says on "GMA." "I'm excited for viewers to see the real me in that, because I'm sitting there all tough and shaking and I'm acting tough. And instantly when it's over, it's like, 'OK, there's the real Bristol,' because I am calling my boyfriend, I'm calling my mom. 'Ah, get me out of here.' People are going to see the real Bristol in this show."
