'X Factor': Britney Spears and Demi Lovato mingle with fans

Newly signed judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato reported to their first day of duty with "The X Factor" on Thursday (May 24). And now we get to see a little bit of how the two greeted fans in Austin before going on to listen to the talent.

Spears, the $15 million woman, shook hands with onlookers as she headed in to listen to auditioners. Lovato posed for pictures with fans, clearly embracing her new job. After that, the fun really kicked in.

It was not long after the contestants began singing that Spears walked off the set of the singing competition. Reports state that Spears split after a singer didn't do much justice to her song "Hold it Against Me." Spears later writes on Twitter that she "was just taking a little break...I am having the BEST time!!!"

Next up for Britney, Demi,  Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid and the auditions - Kansas City, San Francisco and Providence.
