'The Family Tools': ABC looks to rebuild its comedy lineup

the-family-tools-abc.jpgABC had some good luck with a comedy about a craftsman in "Home Improvement." Well, it looks like they're going to give it another go with the new sitcom "The Family Tools."

The ensemble comedy begins as Tony Shea, a home repairman played by J.K. Simmons, needs someone to take over the family business after he experiences health issues. The problem comes in when that person is his flunky of a son Jack (Kyle Bornheimer). The series also features Leah Remini and Edi Gathegi.

The show debut in Jan. 2013 and will air at 8:30 p.m. ET.

So Zappers, is "The Family Tools" a show that's built to last, or is it a fixer-upper? Check out the trailer.
