'Revolution': J.J. Abrams and Jon Favreau turn out the lights

Producer J.J. Abrams has had good luck with shows that start with a plane falling from the sky, so it's no surprise that one of the first images we see in the clip for "Revolution" is just that -- a jetliner plummeting to the earth after the world's electricity is suddenly turned off.

Take a little "Lost," add in a touch of "The Hunger Games," "Escape from New York" and "Battlestar Galactica," and you'll get the general vibe of "Revolution" -- the result of a collaboration between Abrams and "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau.

The series stars Billy Burke ("The Twilight Saga"), Tracy Spiridakos ("Being Human"), Anna Lise Phillips ("Terra Nova"), Zak Orth ("Romeo + Juliet"), Graham Rogers ("Memphis Beat"), J.D. Pardo ("A Cinderella Story"), Giancarlo Esposito ("Breaking Bad"), David Lyons ("The Cape"), Maria Howell ("The Blind Side"), Tim Guinee ("Iron Man") and Andrea Roth ("Rescue Me").

The story: A young woman sets off on a journey after her father is killed by a militia -- she's hoping to find out more about her past, and the past in general, to bring electricity back to the world.

Also, not surprising in an. Abrams show: A black-and-green-screened terminal computer makes an appearance. Now all we need are some enigmatic numbers.
