'Jericho' reborn? Netflix reportedly talking about a revival

jericho-netflix-revival.jpgGet your peanuts ready: There are rumblings that the cult drama "Jericho" could be the subject of an "Arrested Development"-style resurrection, once again courtesy of Netflix.

Netflix and CBS Studios, which produced the series, have had (very) preliminary talks about another season of the show, TV Guide reports. Some fairly significant financial discussions still have to happen, and the cast -- which included Skeet Ulrich, Lennie James and Ashley Scott -- and creative team would have to be reassembled as well. The show has also been down this road before: Comcast flirted with the idea of a third season a couple years ago, and a feature film project never went anywhere.

If a deal does come together, it will give Netflix another passionate fan base to tap. "Jericho" was canceled after its first season in 2006-07, when it averaged about 9.2 million viewers (marginal for CBS at the time), but a fan campaign that involved sending CBS bags of peanuts -- a reference to the final line of the season -- helped convince the network to order a seven-episode second season.

Season 2 fared worse in the ratings, drawing only 6.2 million viewers per episode, and the series was canceled again. Still, episodes of "Jericho" are popular on Netflix's streaming service, TV Guide says, which has led to the talks.

So what do you think about the idea? Would you jump on Netflix for another season of "Jericho"?
