'Entertainment Tonight': Is Steve Jones in line to take over as host?

He may not have panned out on "The X Factor," but that doesn't mean Steve Jones is ready to leave American TV. The Welshman is apparently in talks to join "Entertainment Tonight" as co-host.

The NY Post is reporting that Jones, 35, is apparently close to signing on with the syndicated show. He would be replacing Mark Steines who is leaving the program after 17 years.

"Nothing has been confirmed," an "ET" representative tells the Post.

If Jones does get the gig, it wouldn't be a huge surprise. He's been filling in on the series since March.

The former Versace model has an extensive hosting resume outside the U.S. Some of the more notable British programs he's worked on include "Let's Dance for Comic Relief" and "T4."
