Demi Lovato's 'X Factor' salary can't compare to Britney Spears'

On Monday, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato appeared onstage with Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid to officially confirm their positions as judges for Season 2 of "The X Factor" in the United States. Though the announcement came as no surprise, it was met with thunderous applause.

"I'm so excited about this whole experience," Spears told the audience. "It's going to be so fun and is so different than anything I've done. I'm ready to find a true star." She's also ready, we presume, to collect the whopping $15 million paycheck offered to her for the season.

Lovato's payday will be considerably smaller. TMZ reports that the singer/actress will make slightly over a million dollars for her participation in the show. Though it may seem meager in comparison to Spears' enormous salary... well, it's still a million dollars. Lovato's doing pretty well for herself given that she's only 19 -- which was very clear in her statement to the media. "I am totally stoked to be here," she said. "I'm excited to represent my generation and I'm ready to find the winner."

Plus, it's far from her only source of income. In fact, Lovato has scheduled her upcoming tour date around "X Factor" audition tapings.
