CBS picks up Sherlock Holmes drama 'Elementary' and 2 comedies

jonny-lee-miller-getty.jpgJonny Lee Miller will get his chance to make a mark in the crowded Sherlock Holmes market. On Sunday (May 13), CBS announced plans to pick up the drama "Elementary" -- which transplants Holmes to Brooklyn and morphs his trusty sidekick Watson into Lucy Liu. The network also put in orders for three other dramas, two comedies and a new reality show from Mark Burnett.

Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis star in "Vegas" -- a 1960's set drama about a rodeo cowboy who becomes sheriff of the desert city. "Made in New Jersey" tracks a working class woman's (Janet Montgomery) rise at a posh Manhattan law firm, while "Golden Boy" follows another career -- a copy who goes from officer to detective to police commissioner in short order.

The comedies: "Friend Me" is about two pals -- Nicholas Braun and "Superbad" star Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin) -- who move to Los Angeles to work at (product placement alert!) Groupon. "Partners" is about two lifelong friends and business partners who work at [product placement TBD].

Mark Burnett's latest series, "The Job," moves reality into the workplace.
