'30 Rock' Season 7 confirmed to be final season: Will Tina Fey stay at NBC?

NBC president Bob Greenblatt revealed that while "30 Rock" had been picked up, it was only for a shortened, 13-episode run -- which would culminate with a one-hour series finale. It comes as little surprise to fans of the show, who have been aware of star Alec Baldwin's publicized discontent with the network. Greenblatt does confirm that Baldwin will return next season.

One star who they do hope to see stick around on a more permanent basis is executive producer Tina Fey. "We think the world of Tina Fey, who is truly a comic genius," Greenblatt says, "and we hope she has a home at NBC for years to come."

In anticipation of "30 Rock's" exit from the schedule, NBC has stockpiled plenty of new material, picking up ten comedies for its 2012-2013 season. Greenblatt asked that the media and advertisers leave the upfront presentation with one thing in mind: "We have some real comedy strength that will expand the reach of the network."
