'Smash' sneak peek: Derek apologizes to Karen, Dev loses it

On Monday's (April 9) all-new "Smash," Karen (Katharine McPhee) gets the chance to step up as understudy for Marilyn when star Rebecca Duvall (Uma Thurman) gets delayed. But she also gets an earful in the clip above from her boyfriend, Dev (Raza Jaffrey) when she comes clean about Derek (Jack Davenport) making a pass at her.

She's obviously not expecting him to stay mad for long, as seen in the clip below, when she answers the door in lingerie, hoping to greet Dev but instead seeing Derek, who's there to -- gasp! -- apologize.
