Robert Kirkman developing 'Thief of Thieves' for AMC

thief-of-thieves-comic-issue-1-coverBuilding on the success of "The Walking Dead," AMC is developing a show based on another Robert Kirkman comic book, "Thief of Thieves." The "Walking Dead" creator's newer comic book is about an art thief with a dual identity who decides to limit his thievery to art that has already been stolen.

Kirkman and "Walking Dead" co-executive producer David Alpert are developing the show, according to THR

"Much like 'The Walking Dead' brought horror to television in a unique and groundbreaking way, I feel 'Thief of Thieves' can do the same thing for heist stories, showing the humanity of all the characters, including the criminals," Kirkman tells THR.

Production of "The Walking Dead's" third season is set to get underway in May. No word yet on  a timeline for "Thief of Thieves."

And is it just us, or does the guy in the cover above totally look like he could be Don Draper's ("Mad Men") brother?
