'General Hospital' safe but 'The Revolution' canceled
"General Hospital" fans can breathe again. The show has managed to survive the soap opera bloodbath of the past few years. Fans of "The Revolution" will have to pour one out for their show. ABC has given it the ax.According to Deadline and confirmed to us by ABC, "General Hospital" will remain the only daytime drama on the network, ending speculation that Katie Couric's new talk show "Katie" would end the show's almost half a century run. "The Revolution" will end it's run at the beginning of July after low ratings.
Starting July 9, "Good Morning America" will air an afternoon show called "GMA in the Afternoon" until "Katie" premieres on September 10. "General Hospital" is currently the longest running U.S. soap opera in production. How do you feel about the news? Let us know in the comments.
