TLC's Bates family: Are they the new Duggars?

Move over, Duggar family: TLC's got a new large family to introduce to the world, and their show premieres tonight (March 13) at 10 p.m. on the network.

"The Bates Family: And Baby Makes 19" follows the Tennessee family -- who are close friends with the Duggars -- and their "simple, back-to-basics, music-filled life." The special introduces us to parents Gil and Kelly Jo and their 18 kids. Of course, from the title, you can tell that they're expecting another bundle of joy.

According to TLC, "only one family member gets to know the gender ahead of time. We also see how Gil and Kelly Jo spend their 24th wedding anniversary. And finally, we are there with them when they deliver their precious new baby!"

Are they the newest TLC reality stars? Considering TLC tends to use one-hour specials to launch new series, there's certainly a possibility of seeing more Bates adventures in the future.
