Showtime announces return dates for 'Weeds' and 'Episodes'

showtime-2011-spring-schedule-weeds-320.jpgWell this is some fun news for summertime TV viewers. Showtime has announced when its programs "Weeds" and "Episodes" will return.

Season 8 of the Mary-Louise Parker pot dramedy will start on July 1 at 9 p.m. ET. So we'll soon find out whether Nancy is hit by the sniper's bullet. As usual, they will have a 13-episode season.

The second season of "Episodes," featuring Golden Globe winner Matt LeBlanc, will debut after the conclusion of "Weeds." It's been renewed for a nine-episode run.

In a release announcing the "Episodes" return, the network previews the season saying, "The second season...picks up four months after the finale with Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) no longer living together, but forced into an awkward working relationship with Matt, as 'Pucks!' goes from a pilot to full-blown series. As Beverly struggles to save her marriage, Matt is determined to save his 'bromance' with Sean, and all of them are forced to try to save 'Pucks!' as its ratings start to plummet and the pressure mounts."

So Zappers, are you looking forward to the return of these shows?
