'Justified's' Neal McDonough goes 'LA Noir,' 'Jericho' alum goes 'Gotham'
Neal McDonough, most recently seen as the villainous Quarles on "Justified," has been cast as former LAPD chief William Parker in TNT's pilot "LA Noir," which chronicles the long-time tension between the LAPD and mob boss Mickey Cohen. Parker is committed to rooting out corruption in the squad and also bringing down Cohen and his cohorts. [Deadline]
Lennie James ("Jericho") has been cast in ABC's "Gotham" pilot, which features NYPD Detective Annie Travers who finds out there is a whole secret magical world within New York. James will play a wealthy CEO running for NYC mayor. ABC has also added comedian Mo Gaffney to "The Unprofessional," about Hilary, a female executive who is laid off and now a stay-at-home mom. Gaffney will play a supermom who is at odds with Hilary. [Deadline]
CBS comedy "Super Fun Night" has added Kevin Bishop as the male lead opposite three nerdy female friends who embark on question to have a ton of fun every Friday night. Bishop is interested in one of the girls. NBC's comedy "Go On" has added Khary Payton as a member of the support group Matthew Perry's Ryan attends after the loss of a loved one. And Zoe Jarmon and Dana Delorenzo have been cast in Mindy Kaling's FOX comedy where Kaling stars as Bridget Jones-type OB/GYN. [Deadline]
ABC drama "Penoza," the story of a widow of an assassinated criminal who must take on her husband's role in the crime syndicate to protect her family, has cast its female lead - newcomer Radha Mitchell has been inked to play Martha, the widow. Radha has previously appeared in movies like "Pitch Black" and "Silent Hill," but this is her first foray into U.S. television. [Deadline]
