'Glee' planning Whitney Houston tribute episode

whitney-houston-gi.jpgAlthough "Glee" covered Whitney Houston the week after she died, the show is reportedly planning a proper full-episode tribute dedicated entirely to the singer.

According to E! Online, the FOX hit began production on a Whitney tribute that will include eight songs from her catalog. The storyline will focus on the McKinley High seniors who are "having a real hard time letting go."

"It's using Whitney's music as a way to say goodbye," a source tells the site. "A way to respectfully say thank you for her music."

The episode was put into motion after Houston's death, while the previous tribute to the singer was merely a coincidence. Amber Riley sang "I Will Always Love You" during the Valentine's Day episode, which had been planned and shot long before the singer's death but coincidentally aired days after she died. "Glee" added a card to the end of the episode honoring Houston's memory.

No word on what songs the gang will cover, but considering there are plenty to choose from, we can't wait to see what innovative arrangements they come up with.
