Carla Gugino is a 'Political Animal,' Will Forte is 'Rebounding'

USA's Washington D.C.-based drama "Political Animals" has cast Carla Gugino as a journalist bent on destroying the career of former First Lady and current Secretary of State Elaine Barrish - played by Sigourney Weaver. Should be fun to watch them face off. [TV Line]

ABC has added a slew of actors to new pilots. Karen LeBlanc joins ABC's "Beauty and the Beast" as a rebel leader who wants to oust Emperor Dorian; Jacinda Barrett ("Real World: London") has been cast as Anthony Edwards' wife in "Zero Hour"; Drew Van Acker of "Pretty Little Liars" has joined "Devious Maids" as a wealthy son of one of the families; and Brett Cullen ("Damages," "Lost") has also been cast in "Maids," as a recently remarried wealthy man. "SNL" alum Will Forte, most recently seen guest starring on "Up All Night," has been cast as the lead role in "Rebounding," FOX's comedy pilot about a man recovering from the death of his fiance with the help of his pick-up basketball team. [TV Line]

And for our own little personal excitement, the Karin Slaughter Grant County books featuring Sara Linton are being developed for TV. Slaughter will be co-writing the pilot script. Something to look forward to down the line - they are excellent books. [Deadline]
