'Boss': T.I. cast as former gang member with City Hall aspirations

Rapper T.I. has booked a season-long guest-starring role on "Boss," the Starz drama starring Kelsey Grammer as Tom Kane, the cold-blooded, ruthless mayor of Chicago, reports Deadline.

T.I. will play Trey, a former gang member who has his sights set on a career in City Hall. He will reportedly represent a symbiosis between politics and crime in the Windy City, acting as a go-between for the gangs of the city and a local Alderman.

T.I. has previously acted in "American Gangster," "Entourage" and "Takers." Boss was a well-received drama, earning star Grammer a Golden Globe for Best Actor as the politico suffering from a degenerative neurological disorder.
