'Battlestar Galactica,' 'Dexter,' 'True Blood' stars set spoiler guidelines

It's an issue that plagues our modern times: The widespread ability to completely spoil someone's viewing of a TV show they may be a bit behind on because they're watching via DVR or iTunes or DVD or any other time-delayed medium.

Now, a group of celebrities from cult-favorite shows like "The Wire," "Heroes," "The Walking Dead" and many more have banded together (via Funny or Die) to establish some basic guidelines regarding spoilers so we don't ruin TV shows for each other.

"Spoilers cease being spoilers two weeks after the standard episode, two months after the season finale, and one year after the series finale," says "True Blood" star Nelsan Ellis.

If you screw up, "Battlestar Galactica" actor Michael Trucco says it's perfectly acceptable to settle disputes via a fun game of ro sham bo or a last man standing knife fight.
