Andy Cohen: 'Real Housewives of Dallas' is not happening

Thumbnail image for kentucky-derby-bravo-andy-cohen.jpgEverything's bigger in Texas -- including rumors of Bravo's latest iteration of its "Real Housewives" franchise, "The Real Housewives of Dallas." And Andy Cohen, executive VP of original programming and development at Bravo, confirms it's not happening.

Reality Tea reported Wednesday (March 14) that the series is coming to Bravo and the Texas women have already been cast. The site's source says the cast "will start filming in August, and the show is supposed to air in early 2013."

However, when I tweeted Cohen Thursday morning asking if the series was happening, his response? No.

In June 2011, Cohen told Variety, "We've tried to mount a Texas (incarnation), but we never hit the nail on the head with casting."

So don't believe the big-haired hype.
